A Mask for Everyone
Shortly after the worldwide outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in spring 2020, refugees from Somalia and Syria as well as German long-time residents of a small town near Berlin sewed in an act of solidarity more than 3,000 masks. They sewed for all the inhabitants of the village.
During their work they were teachers, pupils and friends to each other.
Amongst the recipients of masks were a group of children of nurses, doctors, supermarket cashiers and other professions of "systematic relevance". They were the only ones who visited the local school during that time.
The film - shot in Direct Cinema style - was shot during several days in April and May 2020.
It was commissioned by the Festival FILM WITHOUT BORDERS Bad Saarow which took place in spring and summer 2020 in Bad Saarow and Storkow (Brandenburg).
